Just wondered where it was for in searching my family tree Edward Young was a policeman there when his first child Hannah Young was born in 1899.
By the time their second child was born Margaret and Edward were living at Mickley Square

Congratulations for appreciating your history. It simply shows how precious your people and culture are to you and your future generations. That is direct evidence of "love of country"

Subject:Astley School

As a 11/12 year old boy I was sent to stay with my Grandparents Wardle in New Hartley during the Blitz of London. I attended Astley School when Dr.McClachan was Headmaster and wondered if anyone out there remembers those days. My family relatives were Brotherick's, Greener's, Dunn's and Ternant's. (and of course Wardle's)

My wife and I were responsible for The Salvation Army's Seaton Delaval church in the early 1960s. Our second child, a son, was born whilst we were there, and we gave him a middle name of Delaval.
